Qwerkywriter USB Typewriter – bring a touch of vintage to your modern machine

Something like a year ago there was this too cool to be true typewriter like attachment for iPads. It was actually too cool to be true in that it was a concept, but since so many people (yours truly included) loved the idea Qwerkytoys has created the Qwerkywriter USB Typewriter for all of your retro vintage needs.

The Qwerkywriter is at its core a USB keyboard. It is not a full keyboard as it only has 84 keys, basically all the ones  you find on a vintage typewriter plus a few extra for computer functionality such as all the Function keys and ctrl/cmd. It also has the look of an old style typewriter with lifted round keys. But rest assured, the return bar won’t send your tablet flying however.

It doesn’t just look like a vintage typewriter, the real charm in this is that it sounds like an old typewriter too. That delicious tapping noise, the bell when you advance to a new line. It sounds like you’re getting work done. It’s the music of productivity. The Qwerkywriter is compatible with both Mac and PC. It’s currently on pre-order for $309.
