Hemingway Desktop Editor – writers rejoice, the new style editor for PC and Mac has just arrived

hemingwayfordesktop3

If you are a writer of any sort, stop what you’re doing and pop along and download this Hemingway Desktop Editor program for Mac or PC. OK, it’s going to cost you $4.99, but it’s going to make you a better writer. Really it will.

The developers are still maintaining the original online app we talked about a while back, but now you get the chance to do all your work offline, and also format with markdown and export to HTML at the end of the process. Just copy and paste in your text and watch as the program lets you know instantly how you could improve it.

There are lots of grammar and structure checkers out there, most of them inside generic word-processors, but Hemingway is the first we’ve met that works, and what’s more works intuitively. Just a quick glance at your page will tell you exactly where you could simplify your wording to make it more readable, and we love the fact that you can see your reading grade immediately in the right hand column.

Go on, go get it, you’ll not regret you did. And I guarantee your readers won’t either.

You guys have a problem with paying 5 bucks for a powerful editing tool? 5 friggin dollars?
This is why most people find nerds, geeks, and Linux users so annoying.

    • No, no you misunderstands me, sir. We typically write about free software, open source and stuff, so to write about paying for something is a bit of a departure for us. I wanted to make that clear so our regular readers would not be upset. It’s definitely worth the $5 (I immediately paid up).

    • Dude… it was pretty clear what the author was saying. You might need to ‘unplug’ for a few days. Teh internets are harder on some of us then others.hahaha!
