Owning a cat is awesome. They’re the best, but litterboxes are the worst. They smell, and no matter what you do there’s always a smell. The grains of litter also tend to get everywhere around the box and sometimes your home, and it’s generally pretty messy all round. The ScoopFree Ultra Self-Cleaning Litter Box however can make the worst part of cat ownership bearable.

The Ultra version of the ScoopFree box is a covered litter box which is great for those cats who need that extra bit of privacy. The hood also helps keep litter from scattering due to digging, which means less cleaning for the lowly human. The main feature though, is the fact that the box is self-cleaning. There’s a sensor which alerts the box to the cat’s departure, and scoops the soiled litter into a pan so you don’t ever have to see it.

The litter box uses special crystal litter which supposedly helps with the smell, and the best part of this box is it’s automated to do the clean up quickly. When the pan is full, all you need to do is switch out the litter pan with a new one and the process begins again.

The box also monitors how many times your cat has gone to the bathroom, which is a huge help for those who have felines that suffer from urinary tract infections and such things. The ScoopFree Ultra Self-Cleaning Litter Box is $179.99.

How is this one different or better than the 10 versions already on the market?
