The folks from BioLite have done it again. You’ll remember of course they’re very cool camping stove which can charge up your phones and tablets just by burning some sticks in the forest? No? Well it’s still a neat way of combining the outdoor life with your digital necessities. Now they’ve gone a stage further with this type of clever tech.
The BioLite KettleCharge is an ordinary water boiling kettle, but with a twist. It actually comes with a device charger built into the handle, which means you can charge your phone while you’re brewing some tea or coffee on the camp fire. Neat eh?
The device uses some very clever thermoelectric gizmo to produce the electricity from the heat differentials or something, and can offer up to 10W of power from a boil up. Just fill, heat and charge. We’re not told how much water the kettle holds, but we’re assuming it’s enough for a couple of cups of coffee or tea at least, just remember that the handle is more important than the container and treat it with respect! The device is priced at $149.95.

doubt you can get that thing close to an actual campfire. Probably only applies if you’re cooking over a propane stove or backpacking stove.
Heh, good point.
