Fresh Paper – keep your fruit and veggies fresher longer with a single sheet of paper

So everyone loves a nice bit of fruit now and then, and there are even those who delight in a decent bit of broccoli with their meals. But the problem is fresh produce tends to go off pretty quickly, which means you end up throwing a lot of it away unless you can eat it quickly. But this ingenious product promises to reduce waste and keep your stuff fresher for longer.

Fresh Paper is a sheet which is infused with ‘organic spices‘ which apparently inhibits the decaying process in fruit and vegetables. To use, you just place a sheet of the paper near to the produce you wish to protect, and it will start working for up to month.

We’re suckers for a good foodie tale, and this one seems awesome. The spices inhibit fungal and bacterial growth, and also slow down the ripening enzymes, which is how it can work, but if your stuff has already started going bad, then you’re out of luck. Use the paper sooner next time, maybe?

Mind you, at almost $1 a sheet, you’re going to have to love your fresh veggies a lot. The trial pack costs $9 for 8 sheets, the proper pack is $29 for 32 sheets.
