Spruce Stove – stay warm in style, as long as you have the space

So look, the Dutch clearly like doing things properly. None of your half measures where they’re concerned. So instead of installing some quaint little wood burner stove, these guys have gone and designed a wood burner that actually burns a whole tree trunk. Mind boggling!

Now before you start complaining about eco savagery, we’re assuming that the burn rate and heat output on one of these Spruce Stove things is around the same as if you chopped the trunk into a lot of little pieces, it’s just that with this system you simply find your tree trunk and push it into the burner a bit at a time, as you need.

The thing has an adjustable diaphragm to keep the heat under control, and a very large chimney to make sure you don’t get gassed as you warm up, and the latest version also sports a couple of wheels so you can actually move it around from place to place. The funniest thing however is the fact that the designers are trying to come up with a chuffin’ tree delivery service, so you’ll be able to order your 1.5 meter trunks for delivery to your caravan. Hilarious.

The price for this Hercules of wood burners is a cool €4500, excluding delivery costs.
