POP Pager. Forward email to your cellphone. Free. Do note that this is a .nu address (and I’m not 100% happy with .nu domains for obvious reasons). So caveat emptor, eh?

With this easy to configure mail-to-SMS/paging gateway you can get mail on your cellphone (as SMS message) POPPager is a FREE (for 1 user) application that runs on Win9x or NT 4 and that will monitor a POP3 mailbox. When mail gets sent to the mailbox POP Pager will send it to your alphanumeric pager or GSM. POPPager sends the mail to the pager/GSM based on the phonenumber that is in the subject of the mail, so you can use a central email account as a deposit location for any mail sent to any pager.

I wrote my own version of a email-to-SMS app. It’s written in perl and downloads mail from Gmail via POP, and then checks against a whitelist of from addresses and sends the ones I want to my phone via SMS. Very handy.
