The Present – the annual clock that counts out a whole 365 day year

thepresent

How come time is moving so fast nowadays? Where did last year go? What am I doing with my life? Sound familiar? Well you’re not the only one to have these thoughts, which is why this new and very clever clock has been developed.

The Present is a clock which doesn’t count hours and minutes, but instead runs through 365 days every full complete circle. The clock face is also subtly color coded to represent shifting seasons (from cool winter to warm summer and beyond), and the whole thing is designed to make us register time in a more visceral way.

I think it’s an absolutely fabulous idea, and if it can help us all to appreciate the passing of time and the importance of living in the present moment, then that’s just great. The Present Clock is available for $200 from the MoMA store.

  • That’s awesome – I’ll buy one!

$200? Yeah, not going to pay $200 for a wall clock….

  • For Australia do you turn it upside down to get the right season colours?

    • Or look at it through a mirror? :)
