Science is out there working every day to make the world better. If you’re not a scientist, you can help by playing a game. In fact you can help cancer research by playing Reverse the Odds.
In the game, you try to help a group of colorful creatures save their world by completing puzzles. Basically it’s an adorable puzzle game for your mobile devices. But hidden inside the game is statistical data that computers just can’t analyze.
The studies are looking for patterns that computers just can’t catch onto and there just aren’t enough scientist to look at every slide and find every point. So they appeal to the crowd for the grunt work. You identify cells and color (easy stuff) so trained professionals can figure out what all the data means. You’re helping!
This isn’t the first time that science has turned to the masses. They crowdsource data analysis all the time. It’s a great way to get massive amounts of information sorted through on everything from sunspots to, well, cancer. Reverse the Odds is a free game for all mobile systems.
