This handheld space age weapon of the future is powered by (2) 9 volt batteries conatined [sic] within the handle. It is capable of emitting intense ultrasonic blasts from its output transducer…It is effective for approximately 20ft but some people are even effected at distances as great as 50ft… A good example of the type of irritation it produces is to say its like somebody scratching their fingernails on a chalkboard but at 130 decibels which is about the same sound output levels experienced at a rock concert.

um, that’s a pair of mailing tubes glued together with a tweeter shoved in it. For $300 it should be in some painted PVC… or something.

uhm… yeah well .. parts cost 15$ or so… you need a horn and an AMV tuned to whatever you think is ultrasonic enough, then you couple it to an amp suitable to drive a horn speaker.
it also looks like it was handmade in someones garage – so then the extraordinary high price might be justified :-D
