Binary Watch – the bold and dangerous way to show off your geek cred

Binary watch in use

Yes you are a bold in your geek cred but are you dangerous as well? The Binary Watch not only says that you’re an uber-geek but also that you like to live dangerously.

The basics of this watch are that it gives you the date and time. Only instead of a face, it gives it on a low power micro controller. The band is a ribbon cable with a clasp. There’s no way that anyone could look at your wrist and think anything but, “This is a person that digs technology.” Which, if you’re wearing this, is exactly what you want them to think.

Binary watch alone

The danger comes in when you really think about what you’re strapping to your wrist. This bad boy is not protected by any sort of case so it’s not at all waterproof. Not even a little tiny bit. Your sweat might be enough to ruin it. It also has no sort of protection from electrostatic discharge so you should probably be aware of that. Still, this is a unique watch for anyone who wants their technology cred to be known. The Binary Watch is $45.
