The great thing about modern DSLR cameras is their versatility. Not only are they masters of the still image, but they can also do amazing video which can rival cinema quality equipment, but you do need to make sure you have the right kind of accessories to get the best out of your footage. Which is where this amazing new adapter comes into play.

The PocketRig 2 is a small, pocket friendly block which gives your humble digital camera the kind of expansion capability you need to produce awesome results. Designed by Czech photography equipment experts Edelkrone, the device provides a range of supports and brackets for ensuring steady, quality focused images and video.

You can use it as a simple steadi-cam type unit, or a shoulder mounted rifle steady system, just by adjusting the bracketing. No more having to carry around a monopod for those mobile shoots. But the really cool thing is the fact that you can expand the rig to support matte boxes and follow focus which is where you really start to get serious results.

All in all, this is a very cool solution for not a lot of money, and since everything on the product is designed to be totally industry standard, you’ll be able to mix and match accessories from different sources as you need. Very interesting product, and especially when the price is just €249.99.
