VisaPort – generate a travel visa application in under 2 minutes with your phone [Freeware]

Frequent travelers to exotic places will know that one of the biggest hassles comes from applying for the different visas you need. Not only is it hard to find out what you need to do, but there’s the time and effort involved in actually applying in person to ensure your visa is approved in time. Now there’s a new way to take all the pain out of the process, using just your sunglasses. Nope sorry, scratch that … using your smartphone.

The VisaPort app for iOS and Android will let you identify any possible problems with the target country, including foreign office advisories, and generate complete visa applications including biometrics, histories, travel documents etc. The system relies on you registering with the service (but it’s free) after which all your data is available at the press of a button.

The app also offers a bunch of stuff you may need on your travels, such as travel insurance and currency exchange rates. You can even find and book a hotel and/or flight from within the app, with the developers claiming that you can save up to 35% on flight prices.

In case you’re wondering, the company makes its money from charging the embassies and consuls for the service, and for those nations who are really with the times, the app can even deliver an eVISA direct to your phone wallet if it’s compatible. Now that’s technology progress.
