Dotti – put your phone down and get your notifications 8-bit style instead

DOTTI

Our robot overlords have arrived and they’re much smaller than we thought they would be. It’s our phones. Most people are attached at the hip (literally in some cases) to their tiny screens. You can help break away with Dotti, the LED notification cube.

Dotti is a very simple device. It syncs with your phone via downloadable app and notifies you with a cute visual display when you have something to attend to in the digital world. So instead of constantly checking your phone, you can check out of that cycle and just glance up at Dotti instead. It connects via Bluetooth and is compatible with both Apple and Android products. It will work up to 50 feet away from the phone so it’s fine for most rooms.

DOTTI app

The app lets you create your own pictures for your social media alerts. You can go with the old standards like the phone for a phone call or you can make it a frowny face because no one ever calls you but bill collectors. No judgements. It also has a setting for music that displays an equalizer and a built in dice game. The Dotti is $79.99.

Donyae’s love for technology is based on a need to survive our future robotic overlords. Know thy enemy as you know yourself. But since even odds are on the zombie future, she has also learned how to prepare squirrel. You can find her on Facebook until the robots – or zombies – rise up.
