9-in-1 Emergency Flashlight – multitool does more than just shine a light

Emergencies are not the time to realize you’re not ready prepared. Real adventurers instead make sure everything’s up together and they’re not caught by surprise. And nowadays that’s even more important when flash floods, or storms can hit at any time. Climate change? What’s that?

This 9-in-1 Emergency Flashlight is designed specifically to keep you going when the going gets tough. Or something. It features a white LED flashlight (of course!), plus an emergency mode, a seatbelt cutter, windshield smasher for escaping stuff, a compass, a USB charging port for your phones, and a handcrank generator for powering the lamp.

The product also contains a built in rechargeable battery which should deliver 2 hours of light on a full charge, and we assume should be able to charge your phone without any hand cranking. Of course this means that you have to charge the thing up using a USB port, which is not as handy as a couple of AA batteries, but even so, it’s definitely better than nothing. Priced at $39.99.

  • Sadly, lots of these solutions are a jack-of-all-trades, mastering nothing. Speaking as an ex-owner of similar devices. Sometimes spending a little more on dedicated devices – whether it’s a Maglite 2-D LED (which is amazing) or a standalone portable phone charger are much^10 better options for real emergencies.

    • Yes totally. But I do think these things are OK for just chucking in the car for an out and out emergency. :
