The Ray Super Remote – a smart remote for your smart home

Ray Super Remote

No matter how smart your home is, remotes tend to be very much the same system all the way around. Push buttons, channel changes, end of story. The Ray Super Remote is a new take on the remote turns the simple concept into a smart device for easier viewing and entertainment.

The Ray is the universal remote to end all universal remotes. At first glance, it doesn’t look like a remote at all. It looks like a smartphone. Instead of the normal buttons, it has a touch screen. The homepage of your remote gives you access to all of your connected devices. Over time it will learn your TV viewing habits and give you selections to choose from instead of wasting precious time scrolling for something else to watch.

The downside here is that you need a Wi-Fi connection to get the most out of this. You’ll also need cable for the television portion. However, this remote will also connect to your other non-television devices and let you control your entire media center so there is that. The Ray Super Remote is $199 and ships in the fall.
