Iplayer

The new Netgem iPlayer+ set top box. One box, lotsa stuff. Broadband enabled, answering machine, digital TV, WiFi and Ethernet networking, and….get this party goers…the ability to send SMS and email from your TV. Price? Pah, just £89.99. What price media centers now, eh?

Unlike other set top boxes the iPlayer+ has been developed to bring together entertainment and communications in one device, and to keep upgrading as new features are developed. So when you buy the iPlayer+, unlike many devices these days, it is not obsolete as soon as you take it out of the package. We are committed to continually improving the iPlayer+ and adding new features.

  • If it had a media server built in, I’d buy one.

Just bought a Dlink DSM 320 which works well (better than the Pinnical one that I sent back after 5 days)

    Rob.

  • Mmm…I’m still not convinced by media servers. :-)

  • Well, 2 weeks in now and I’m sold on it. A mere 130 and we get to see pictures we’ve not seen for years and access CDs that have had to go into storage as our little fella (20 months) couldn’t resist pulling them off the shelves.

Oh, and good for any video downloaded from the web – so in my case I get footage from my brother’s camera (along with stills) piped to my server via foldershare and I can check them out whenever I get the time…..

  • Hmm..foldershare looks interesting. Have to feature it. :-)
