Epic – like Netflix for children’s books

Epic 1

Reading is an extremely important skill. With tablets and the like, we’ve moved on from traditional books to screens in many cases. Still, it’s important to foster a love of the written word in children. Epic is the subscription book service just for kids to keep them interested in reading.

Epic allows children to read from a library of thousands of books on their own devices. The books include a variety of titles rated from early readers up to age 12. There are educational books as well as adventure stories. Of course, anything you read is in some way educational, no matter how fantastic the plot.

Each reader is given personalized suggestions to help them discover new authors and stories as they grow and become stronger readers. The service streams books so you don’t have to wait for them to download but you can also choose to read them offline. It works on Android, iOS, and has a web based reader. At $4.99 per month, it’s cheaper than Kindle Unlimited.
