Pixelstick – paint with all the colors of the wind, er, light

Pixelstick in use

You can paint with a lot of things. With a good camera and the proper tools, you can even paint with light. The Pixelstick is a LED light wand that lets you work the magic of light painting in photographs.

Pixelstick alone

The Pixelstick is a stick that is chock full of ultra-bright, fully programmable LED lights. Combine this with some long exposure photography and you can add colors, designs, and even other photos to your picture. The device is programmable for a variety of colors and speeds. In order to put a picture on, all you need to do is upload it to an SD card and pop it in the controller and it’s off to the races.

This gadget is made from aluminum so it is fairly lightweight. It holds 200 full color LED lights and is on a rotating handle so you can “paint” easily. Of course your art won’t stay in the real world forever, it is only light after all, but if your photography skills are on point, you can capture it for eternity with your DSLR. The Pixelstick is $349.
