Cardboard Home Cinema in use

If you were on the East Coast of the US this weekend you may have found yourself buried under a ton of snow. You may have been trapped in your home with nothing but your family for company which after a few hours can get aggravating. Be prepared for next time with the Cardboard Home Cinema, the box that turns your smartphone into a personal movie experience.

This product is built for Apple devices such as the iPhone or iPad, however, if your phone or tablet is similar in size, you can use this device as well. If you want to try it with another device, it might be a good idea to measure before buying. Once the cinema has been assembled, your device sits on the top, face down.

You position yourself underneath and it’s ready to go. In theory, this would work great to give you an closed off, individual movie experience but it probably has some shortcomings if your device has rear facing speakers. Also, once on, how do you pause without removing the box? Still, a neat idea if you’re hankering to be alone for a film but can’t clear out a room. The Cardboard Home Cinema is $35.79.
