Google Maps is a pretty well known website. It’s embedded into many of the other services that we use on a daily basis but do you know that there’s an even more streamlined version? Check out Google Maps Lite for a less resource heavy option.
This version gives you most of the functionality of normal google maps, in that you can look up locations and get directions but it drops some of the additional features. Things like 3D imagery and Earth view are turned off as well as search nearby and showing your location. You also are not able to drag routes or do any edit suggestions.
This version may automatically load if you’re using an older browser or OS. It also automatically loads on mobile devices. You can toggle between the two versions by tapping the lightning bolt icon in the bottom right hand corner of the page. Use this option if you need fast load times.
