Electric Jukebox – it’s time to retire those CDs

There are people out there who are still listening to CDs and honestly, I don’t blame them because flipping through someone’s MP3 library doesn’t exactly give you the same feeling as opening up their CD holder. Even so, if die hard CD fans are looking for a gentle way to move into the world of streaming music, Electric Jukebox wants to help.

This is dongle that you connect to your TV via HDMI, much like Chromecast and the like. Instead of TV and movies, it gives you streaming music. The device is controlled via microphone, allowing you to literally tell it what to play. You can also build your own mix-tapes or listen to others’, all from your TV.

It’s an interesting concept and certainly a user-friendly music experience but it just seems a little unnecessary with the prevalence of Bluetooth connected devices. Still, this might be exactly what someone is looking for when it comes to streaming. Your purchase comes with a year of free service but we would assume that there would be some charge after that time. The Electric Jukebox is $169.
