Signal – keep your texts to yourself

You never know who’s listening in our connected world. If you want to make sure that all your text messages, no matter how innocent, are kept secret from any prying eyes, check out Signal, the completely secure text messaging app.

You use your existing phone number and address books to send messages or participate in video calls. These will all be private. No one is reading to what you say. Your conversation is your own. As we are living in a time where our phones and messages can be tracked and read without our consent, having another layer of privacy may be important to some.

This is a totally free app, they’re supported by community donations so there aren’t even any annoying ads to contend with. The software itself is open source so anyone can test it for themselves. They do not keep any information as it is encrypted all the way through the process. This app works on both Apple and Android devices.
