The 90s gave us a bunch of really solid computer games and one of the best was StarCraft, in fact, up until recently although being nearly 20 years old, you still had to pay good money, well $10-15, to get your hands on a copy of this iconic real time strategy. Good news however, the game is finally free from Blizzard.
StarCraft is a military, space based game. In it you play out the epic battles between the Zerg and Terrans. The Terrans are the human side, in case that wasn’t clear enough. Throughout the game you plan a number of strategies in order to win battles against your enemies.
This free release includes the first game and the expansion Brood War. The game is available for both PC and Mac. The developer has used this time to update a number of things so that it plays better on today’s current systems. But to be honest, it could be exactly the same game and people would still play it. People do still play it. You can download the game directly from the website.
