Urban Mining – turning old batteries into new

You probably don’t think much about magnets outside of hanging something on your fridge but these common items are actually part of many technologies that we have come to rely on, outside of hanging notes up. Urban Mining wants to make them more sustainable for a greener future.

Magnets are made from rare earth materials and are mined directly from the land. Unfortunately, gaining access to these minerals and getting them to their final, useable state is a very costly and creates massive amounts of pollution. This company recycles old magnets and makes new magnets.
