Sirius B Black Cherry – A Pocket Sized Desktop! [REVIEW]

The pocket-sized Ockel Sirius B Black Cherry costs only £259 and works very well for daily browsing or watching videos. More good news: The 32GB version will retail for only 209£ and the 64GB version for 265£ on Amazon Innovation Day which is August 2!

Some quick specifications about the Black Cherry I tested:

  • 32GB internal storage Flash
  • Windows 10 64-bit
  • Intel Atom x5-Z8350
  • 4GB RAM
  • HDMI – USB 2.0 – USB 3.0
  • Micro SD-input
  • Audio out – Microphone out

In the box you get a well built PC and  different power adapters. After connecting the Ockel to a screen and mouse-keyboard, it took about 10 minutes to finish the installation process. Windows 10 comes installed but you just need to go through the usual process of setting up a new Windows machine. The Black Cherry has Wifi so it’s fairly easy to connect to the internet.

The first test were promising, although I have to say that it takes a while to load heavy pages with a lot of ads. Maybe another browser would solve this- I was testing on Microsoft Edge. Don’t get your hopes up for hardcore gaming, this device won’t run any games that are new. I didn’t install Steam, but I tried some games on Miniclip. For example Agar.io, which is fun and popular, runs smoothly. I did have some lag issues, but that was due to my internet speed.

This Sirius B Black Cherry is definitely a good PC for freelancers and students who want to have a desktop for quick browsing and watching videos, but are on the go a lot. If you are not in need of a laptop or don’t want to pay a lot of money for an all-in with Windows, then the Ockel can be the solution for you! You will need a screen, keyboard and mouse, but those things are fairly cheap now.

Downsides: storage is not that big with the 32GB version, luckily there’s an SD-card slot. You won’t get the fastest experience in the world, but fast enough for browsing. There is no LAN-cable input for fast internet speeds if your Wifi is too slow. Only 2 USB-inputs (pretty normal because it’s a small device) which means that you will need a BT-keyboard or mouse if you want to plug in a USB.

This Ockel Sirius B Black Cherry is a very good mini desktop for the price. It’s especially good for browsing the web and watching videos. If you want to do some gaming on your PC, I would suggest looking for a more expensive computer. Don’t forget that the Ockel Sirius B Black Cherry will be on sale on Amazon for to Innovation Day.
