Prodigy – teach math with the power of games

There’s a little bit of math in nearly everything we do. You don’t need to know advanced math theory to get through life, but it’s important to get the basics down. If your kid is struggling with math, check out Prodigy, the learning website dedicated to getting a handle on math.

This platform uses fun math games to help children learn. This is a common tactic for teaching young kids but this website goes all the way up to grade 8 so even middle schoolers can enjoy some gamed math. It covers the basic math concepts of each age level, focused on what is found on standardized testing.

The site is totally free for teachers but teacher can also be homeschooling parents. There is a “parent upgrade” feature that unlocks some additional content in the form of games and accessories for your child’s digital avatar but it has no effect on the educational content. Check out the website to get started.
