Greasemap

Greasemap is a cool little freeware tool that automatically embeds a Google map at the top of the screen when you browse a web page with an address on it. It needs Greasemonkey in order to work. I had it installed for a bit, but turned it off when I found it was slowing down my page accesses a bit. Still, pretty cool tech all round.

Greasemap…augments any web page you visit by searching the page for geocodeable addresses or other geotags. If it finds any, it automatically shows all such locations on a Google Map which is injected into the page you are viewing, within an iframe from Vinq.com.

  1. Greasemonkey is a major security risk, and the recommmendation is to disable it completely for now.
