Katrina

Our thoughts are with all those who have suffered, and are currently suffering, at the feet of Hurricane Katrina. Mother Nature can be a terrible mistress sometimes…at which point we are indeed reminded of our frailty. What else can one possibly say?

  • I was just there about a month ago. It’s unbelievable how the city is just dead, a whole city completely stopped for what will be a long time. It’ll be interesting to see what it’ll be like once it recovers.

  • Global warming.
We had better start getting used to bigger storms and more frequent catagory 5 hurricanes like Katrina.
One of the side effects of the increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is that the earth is “capturing” more of the suns energy.
Most people think global warming just leads to higher temperatures and rising sea levels, but it also means more energetic storms and weather systems.
So next time you hear someone refer to Katrina as an “act of god” remember that its largely us that are responsible for this particular mess.

  • There’s no such thing as global warming. Read Michael Chrichton’s “state of Fear”
