Robomart – let your shopping come to you

You need to get your groceries from somewhere. Instead of going to the shop, why not let it come to you? That’s the idea for Robomart, the self-driving grocery van. Just request the nearest mart from your smartphone and it will show up where you are.

This isn’t the first company that has thought of this idea. We’ve seen other companies with a similar idea but they tend to be a bit more like corner stores. Robomart seems to be gearing more towards offering lots of fresh produce and the like for consumers. The van tracks what you’ve taken and there’s no “checkout” making it easy to use.

An interesting idea but with the recent Uber test accident, I don’t know how well this will be received. Still, this would be a neat way to combat food deserts and meet the demands of busy lifestyles. This is just a concept at this time but maybe we’ll see them on the roads in the future.
