Fairphone 2 – fix your phone on your own when you drop it

Your smartphone is getting kind of slow and busted so what do you do? Buy a new one right? That’s pretty much how we all operate, the tiny pocket computers we carry around are replaceable. But what if we could just. . . fix them? Or expand on them? The Fairphone 2 is the modular smartphone that you can repair yourself.

The phone runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) and includes your basic smartphone options. Camera, speakers. Touchscreen, etc. There’s 32 GB of memory included and you can upgrade up to 64 Gb. It is a fairly standard phone. It also has two SIM card slots to act as two phones which is something I don’t need but you might.

Unlike your current phone, this one is easy to repair. If parts burn out or are damaged, you can order replacements and do it yourself rather then just throwing he whole phone away, which is quite nice. You can get your hands on this phone for €529.
