This box is a total ripped off. I ordered one to use between my DVD and a video projector (which did not have component video, only VGA video) and this was such a huge waste of money. The image never shows centered, on the right side it shows only a black vertical bar occupaying about 20% of the screen, and the quality is really bad.
The unit comes with some DIP switches, and although I tried all recomended configurations, plus all the other ones (256 in all!) the darn thing would just NEVER show a good image. I suggest you do some googling around, as this product really sucks.
Hmm…thanks for that, interesting feedback. Did you try and contact the suppliers to ask why? Or even to demand a refund? I’m surprised they keep selling it….
The problem is that such companies sell a lot of their products abroad, abd after one pays updwards of $30 or $40 for shipping to this side of the world, and they ask you “to send it back” but to our expense, it makes no sense to do so since you won’t if the product will work as advertised once we get it back from them again. Major bummer
Very fair point, Noche B. Such is the real downside of Internet shopping I suppose. I try and weigh up the retail price with the potential return/support costs generally and avoid buying stuff online where there might be problems like this in returning goods.
Mind you I just bought a pair of headphones on eBay for �2.49 from Hong Kong. The shipping was double the price of the headphones, but it was still a bargain! :-)
