So Amazon made an Alexa enabled microwave and I have questions. Smarthome technology is awesome, and of course we all want a smarter microwave but how does this help anything? The AmazonBasics Microwave is a compact microwave that you can control with Alexa.
This is a fairly standard microwave with all the normal bells and whistles. As far as a product goes, you probably can’t go wrong with this. My question is, what is Alexa support really adding here. Voice activation is awesome if it keeps you from having to interact with the device but. . . it’s a microwave. You have to stand there anyway to put the food in and take the food out.
What I really want to see in a microwave is the ability heat food evenly. That’s it. This one does send reminders to your shopping list for when you’re running low on popcorn and yes, you can give it voice commands instead of pressing buttons. It’s $59.99 if you’re looking for that sort of thing.
