Solar panels, great for getting nice, green energy. Also it turns out, great for keeping the surrounding lands nice and green too. Green goodness all around. A new study shows that solar panels help to increase grazing lands for some of our herd animals.

It’s not the sun though, you would think, solar panels, sunlight, there would be something there but you would be wrong. Land with solar panels installed actually help to increase the amount of water the ground retains in semi arid areas. More water means longer growing periods, which means more grass all around.

This effect was discovered by accident but it’s still a nice by product, a little bonus to being more eco-friendly. Check out the article to see the charts and full figures.
