Sustainable Paradores – old hotels, new energy

Nothing is ever too old to make positive changes! At least that’s the lesson we can learn from Spain who is converting all 97 of it’s hotels that are found in castles and monasteries, known as paradores, into running on renewable energy sources.

The recent deal will means that all of these hotels will be running on green energy which reduces their carbon footprint and has an overall good impact on the environment. This is just one step the country hopes to take in the direction for sustainability.

The change is both for practical reasons, it is also for symbolic reasons to make the paradores more sustainable. Although this is just one step, it does show a positive change to start the new year off right.
