Ora R1 – this cheap, compact car could be the future of electric vehicles

Sustainable living must be accessible living. If the vast amount of people can’t access sustainable options, all the efforts in that direction will really do no good. To that end, Great Wall Motor, a Chinese company has released an ultra affordable electric car. The Ora R1 costs less than $9000 and is great for motoring around town.

The compact four door can go for up to 351 km (194 mi) at a time making it a pretty solid ride for those who stick close to home. Although it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles as more expensive electric cars, it will come with an AI system built in that can be activated by voice.

It will be available in a number of standard colors and although this car isn’t as sleek or flashy as the most famous electric vehicle, the Tesla, it is a good little machine to get you were you need to go in a more sustainable way. The price will range from $8,680 – 11,293.
