Low Carbon Footprint Diets – they’re healthier for you too

Personal actions aren’t going to stop the tide of climate change but they can help. One of the key points that people have been focusing on in the fight against climate change is the food we eat, specifically, cutting down on beef and dairy. New studies have also revealed that doing so isn’t just good for the environment but also you!

It turns out eating keeping a low carbon footprint in mind also supports choosing foods that nutritionally do a bit better for many people. More poultry and plants, less red meat. So that’s a nice little bonus for doing right by the plant, it’s better for you.

This isn’t to say that you should only pay attention to emissions when you’re meal planning. There are a lot of low emission foods that aren’t so great for you so it’s important to be vigilant about what you’re choosing to ensure that you’re getting everything you need to function but it’s also quite comforting to know that generally, we won’t be harming ourselves by helping the environment.
