Solar Windows could lead to the end of the solar panel era

The sun is probably the best source for renewable energy, and solar panels are the tools designed to extract that energy for use in our daily lives. As it stands, solar isn’t being used to its full potential, but the folks at Solar Window are aiming to change that.

Solar Window is all about transforming entire buildings into vertical solar generators that never run out of power. The idea is pretty impressive, and it could change the way we generate energy big time.

Most high-rise buildings are fitted with glass windows, but if these buildings had solar windows instead, they could take advantage of all the light produced by the sun throughout the day.

Interestingly enough, the Solar Window engineers claim that their technology can outperform rooftop solar by up to 50-fold when added to a 50 story building. If such is indeed the case, I do believe governments around the world should push for it to be installed everywhere.

Several high-rise buildings in the United States are now equipped with Solar Window, and we’re certain more will come onboard in the near future.
