Green Delivery – are we cutting enough emissions from online shopping?

Online shopping is awesome. So convenient, so fulfilling. But how green is your shopping? Sure you’re not traveling to the store but someone is traveling to drop off your packages. Companies around England are making moves to ensure that their services are as Eco-friendly as possible with a variety of different ideas.

Most delivery companies are working on the vehicles themselves with Royal Mail going so far as to add eight e-trikes to the fleet for running deliveries. Other companies have moved towards electric vehicles and bike couriers to help with lowering emissions.

But it’s not just all on them, some of it’s also on consumers in being mindful in the purchases. Instead of buying a lot of single items things (so easy with Prime memberships) instead ordering things together to lower trips. Opting for ‘click and collect’ instead is another tactic. Online shopping isn’t going away we can all make it a little better for the environment.
