The Hit-Air Horse Riding Vest is an inflatable airbag vest which protects you if you’re thrown from yer horse. The Duke may not have needed one, but it looks pretty cool tech nonetheless.

When the rider is thrown away from the horse for certain distance, an airbag contained in the vest inflates instantly to protect the body. With a pulling force of over 25 kgs, a coiled wire, connecting the saddle and the airbag vest, pulls a key out of a gas release system and inert gas inflates the airbag in full within half a second to provide the necessary impact protection for the neck, chest, sides, back and hip.

  • one problem, most people wear show jackets or jumpers when riding, i don think they would let you wear one of those over your show jacket in a comp!!

  • Hmm…thought there had to be a catch and why you didn’t see more of them about. They ought to make one which looks like a show jacket then. Be much safer for events like Burghley and places like that?

  • Only problem is that when it inflates it looks like you grew two c-cups.. on your back.

  • Heh, point! :-)

  • Can anyone tell me who stocks this item

  • Hit Air Australia sell them,

  • It is awesome! your post is what i am looking for a long long time…thanks
