Liquid Power Clock.

Liquidpowerclock

The Liquid Power Clock. Props to Mr and Mrs Designer for making this hackneyed old concept actually look interesting in this incarnation. A real digital clock powered by juice and which looks faintly retro 1950’s Dr Frankenstein. Nice one. $17.95.

Power up this digital clock with fruit juice, cola or any other liquid – no batteries required! * Real digital clock * Generates electricity without batteries * Runs on liquids like juice or soy sauce * Easy to assemble * Teaches kids about electricity and chemistry

Pretty cool isn’t it – you can even make one at home just by looking at the diagram! 2. 500lb Potato Battery [via Make] Boys will be boys – can you imagine building a potato battery using 500lb (~227kg) of potatoes? Well, this guys did it and managed to generate 5 volts and 4 miliamperes! Not alot but it managed to power a small sound system. And finally an advice to all those who tries to do this: don’t eat the potatoes after your experiment! [...]
