Gliffy. Think Visio as an online application. Web apps are the new black, aren’t they? This one is rather nice, I have to say, although when a couple of us tried out the collaborative function, it didn’t work at all, so it’s clearly a work in progress [maybe that’s why it’s called a Beta, duh? – Ed]. Interestingly enough the FAQ claims that this is just part of an upcoming ‘suite’ of online programs, which definitely could be interesting. Anyway it’s free for the moment and definitely worth a look, at least before Google buys it.

As a usability analyst / UI designer I spend considerable time inside Visio. The challenge being getting developers and other analysts to be able to contribute when they themselves don’t have the same tools. This could really help to bridge the gap.

I look forward to seeing this product gain traction and challenge Visio in functional richness. Well done.
