In the United States, 63% of households own a pet and spend about $36 billion per year on their four-legged family members. The US water category is over a $9 billion market growing at almost 13% per year. Since entering the market in the 1990’s, enhanced flavored waters have become one of the fastest growing segments of the beverage industry with annual sales topping $450 million. And these are not only seasonal sales. Water sells even higher in the summer when pet food sales are generally slower.
