Waleli GSM Doorbell – open the door remotely with your mobile phone

Gsmdoorbell

The Waleli GSM Doorbell is a bit of a genius product which combines mobile phone technology and an electronic door lock to let you chat to a visitor and open your door using a cell phone handset. The wider implications are immediately obvious, are they not Holmes? Being able to open the door from afar when you’re running late and your visitors are early, opening the door to workmen while you are at your office, that kind of thing.

Do note that the conversation is only one way, so your visitors will only be able to answer back if you combine the doorbell with a standard door intercom. The very nice folk at Connect Service in the Netherlands (thanks Willem) will sell you the GSM Doorbell on its own for €450.00, and for two-way chat they’ll supply a complete DIY install kit including intercom, cables and brackets for €679.00. And they ship worldwide.

The GSM-doorbell allows you to remotely open your door/gate/etc. using your mobile phone…Ring the doorbell (intercom); the intercom signals the GSM-doorbell. The GSM-doorbell rings the number that is displayed. The occupant answers the call and is able to speak to the visitor. By entering a pincode on their mobile phone the occupant is able to open the door.
