ChronoArt II – the indecipherable wall clock

Chronoart3

The ChronoArt II is a wall clock. That is, it’s a piece of LED powered, pattern shifting art that masquerades as a timepiece. The problem is that it’s almost impossible to read, at least to this reporter’s eyes. That above is supposed to be 12.59 for example. Really? $199.00 plus shipping.

The time is the quantity of lights lit in each group. The left grouping of 12 dots is the hour. The upper right is the 10’s of minutes. In the bottom right there is one 5 minute light and 4 minute lights. The 5 minute light is always a different color than the minutes. It is the only place where color has a meaning.
