Switch Audio File Converter. An Australian freeware program which lets you convert audio files from one format to another. Stuff like MP3 to .wav, .au to .ogg, etc etc. There’s a free and Plus version, and the program runs on Windows, Mac and Linux (using Wine). The company supplies a bunch of other programs which are worth checking out too. What with this for audio and Super for video, file conversion is getting a lot easier. [Thanks Mike]

Switch Plus audio file converter is very easy to use. Just add the files you want to convert to the list, select the format you want to use, and then click the convert button.

This does look nice but Winamp still comes out on top because the latest greatest audio codec is aac+ , better than just aac.
It’s free to convert to aac+ within winamp.
(There’s a growing list of internet radio streaming in the aac+ format.)

Agreed that Super is the video conversion program of choice.

oops, Switch can convert(save) to aac+, but cannot open aac+ files.

Wow this blog is about 5 years old and world is now very much different than what it used to be. Now a lot of free online based audio conversion sites dominating the audio conversion market. ;)
