Iogear Digital Scribe – handwriting capture on plain paper

GPEN100C

The Iogear Digital Scribe is a handwriting capture system which uses plain paper and ordinary ink to capture notes and written information. The receiver uses the USB port, natch, and you can export your prose in JPG format once you’re done. No word on whether there’s any OCR functionality included though, which would be important.

Digital Scribe is the first device ever to capture natural handwriting from any surface, and store it directly onto your computer. Based on a revolutionary electronic pen that uses ordinary ink refill and writes on any paper, the Digital Scribe stores handwritten notes, memos or drawings onto your computer screen for easy editing right away or save it for a later time.

  • I’m confused, they say you can “upload your memos to you computer later” but in the images it appears tethered to the computer. If it needs to be tethered to use, that makes it sort “meh”.

    • the system has memory internal to it and can store images for later upload
