Robert Palmer’s Clickster is a superb free music player, MP3 music download client and Shoutcast stream recorder in one small package. What makes it different, and really interesting, is the fact that it searches and downloads music from the Web, not via P2P or any other type of sharing network. The result is that it’s very very fast, you can play music tracks directly from their location without downloading if you want, and Robert says because it’s not file sharing in the traditional sense, it’s legit. Fascinating, eh?

The program also lets you create and export playlists which can be embedded in web sites or blogs and the Shoutcast recorder will save the tracks directly to your MP3 player or iPod (make a donation and you’ll be able to store more playlists with the Pro version).
