ALSong is a free software MP3 player with a difference in that it automatically links to the lyrics of the tune it’s playing and displays them on-screen. Perfect for those little singalong sessions. The lyric database contains 1,000,000 lyrics and it copes with OGG, WAV and other formats as well as MP3. Free for non-commercial use.
Now you can listen to your music and get the lyrics played back in time to the music. The ALSong Lyrics window plays back song lyrics synchronized to the music, with the currently playing line highlighted for you. There are lots of lyrics already in the system, and often ALSong can automatically recognize your music and link it to the right song lyrics. But if ALSong doesn’t automatically recognize your music, you can search the massive ALSong Song Lyrics Server database and connect your music with its lyrics.
Yeah, this is a feature I love in the Linux KDE MP3-player Amarok as well (and it downloads CD-covers while at it too).
