Infant SUV – grab ’em while they’re young, Maximilian

Gauchopegperego2

The Gaucho Peg Perego is proof of the old Jesuit maxim – get ‘em while they’re young and they’ll be your gas guzzling slaves for life. Or something. It’s billed as an all-terrain (snort, yeah right) high performance (7.5 mph folks) twin passenger electric children’s SUV. Make of it what you will, good people, but suffice to say that it comes with a working FM radio and a glove compartment. $999.95 (or $450.00 if you know where to look).

Unlike other ride-on vehicles that only can seat one child, this one allows two children to safely ride at the same time, up to 130 lbs. total for both riders, at three speeds: 21/2, 5, or 71/2 M.P.H (21/2 M.P.H. reverse speed). Parents may allow one, two, or all speeds using its lock-out setting. It has an accelerator pedal that responds to the lightest touch for quick starts and a separate brake pedal for reliable stops…Its rechargeable battery requires 18 hours for a full recharge.

  • Just wanted to make sure that you realize, the link you had for the $450 kids SUV is a British site and those are Pounds. So it isn’t $450 as you listed, but really about $905 depending on currency conversion. That is still almost $100 off, but not close to half price. Not that I would ever spend that much money on a toy my child would outgrow in a few years.

  • I was excited for a moment there! I read ‘130 lbs’ as ‘130 kg’ and thought ‘even I can ride on that!’ Unfortunately I am a few pounds over 130. No all terrain, high performance twin passenger SVUing for me. Sadface.
